Wayne H. McKinney,
Jr.
Wayne
H. McKinney, Jr., co-founded the law firm of McKinney Law Offices,
P.C. in 1978 after having served as an Assistant Polk County
Attorney in the Polk County Attorney's office in Des Moines,
Iowa since 1976. He received his preparatory education at Iowa
State University, Ames, Iowa, graduating with a Bachelor of
Science degree in 1973. He received his legal education at the
University of Iowa College of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate
in 1976.
Mr.
McKinney served as a United States Senate intern and
coordinator for United Stated Senator Edmund Muskie in
Washington DC form 1971 to 1972. Mr. McKinney also
served as a legal clerk in the United States District
Court for the Southern District of the State of Iowa for
the Honorable Judge William Hansen in 1975.
Mr.
McKinney served in public office as a State
Representative for Dallas and Madison counties in the
Iowa Legislature from 1987 to 1994. Mr. McKinney served
on several legislative committees including as chair of
the Capital Projects Committee and the Legislative
Executive Committee. Mr. McKinney served as Majority
Leader of the Iowa House of Representatives form 1991 to
1993. In 1995, Mr. McKinney was appointed by the Iowa
Supreme Court to serve on its Commission on Planning for
the 21st Century.
Mr.
McKinney's professional affiliations include the Iowa
State Bar Association, Iowa Trial Lawyers Association,
the American Bar Association and Iowa State Bar
Association Supreme Court Budget Committee.
