Eric Crowell
Eric
Crowell is president and CEO of Iowa Health – Des Moines, the
largest private medical service provider in Iowa. In this role,
he is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight
of Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Blank
Children’s Hospital, and more than 40 primary care physician
clinics throughout Central Iowa.
Prior to joining Iowa Health – Des Moines, Eric spent 15 years
at Iowa Health System’s Trinity Regional Health System, where
he built a distinguished record. As president and CEO, he skillfully
guided the merger of two major area hospitals, Franciscan Medical
Center and United Medical Center; managed the acquisition of
Davenport Medical Center; developed the plans for Bettendorf’s
new hospital; and led the growth of one of the Iowa-Illinois
region’s leading health delivery organizations. Eric also spearheaded
the development for Trinity’s 7th Street campus in Moline, Ill.
– a comprehensive ambulatory surgery and emergency center offering
extended stays for patients.
A Des Moines native, Eric is very active in the community and
sits on several local boards and committees, including the Greater
Des Moines Partnership, Downtown Community Alliance Board and
Healthy Polk 2010 Steering Committee. He is also a trustee with
Grand View College.
Eric obtained a master’s degree in hospital administration
from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and
a bachelor’s degree in industrial administration from Iowa State
University, Ames, Iowa.
