Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews and prepares recommendations on plans for development
including site plans, plat, master plans, planned unit developments
and proposed rezonings to assure conformance with all applicable
ordinances and to provide appropriate land use and orderly growth;
acts as liaison between the City and developers, coordinating
input from any City departments which may be affected by development
proposals; responds to public inquiries regarding zoning and
subdivision regulations, current and future development activities
and plans, and applicable standards and policies affecting development
within the City; administers department activities and projects
by providing supervision and direction to staff; prepares and
reviews legal documents for final approval by the City Attorney,
including such things as zoning ordinances, easements, covenants
and other documents; attends meetings of the City Council, the
City Plan and Zoning Commission and other boards and commission
as needed; makes recommendations to Plan & Zoning Commission
and other boards and commissions as needed; makes recommendations
to Plan & Zoning Commission and City Council pertaining
to developing land use code enforcement; acts as a representative
of the City in pursuit of a sound economic base for the community
and in the integration of the into long-range metropolitan and
regional plans; and develops, recommends and implements plans
for revitalization of declining neighborhoods within the City.
