Alliant Energy
To ensure that your electric and natural gas service is always there when and where you need it, Alliant Energy's comprehensive reliability plan includes:

Adding new generation sources: Their "Energy for a New Generation" plan includes:
  • 250 MW of clean-coal technology in Iowa;
  • At least 100 MW of company-owned wind power generation in Iowa;
  • Sale of IP&L's transmission system to a regional power transmission company; and
  • Continued commitment to aggressive conservation and energy-efficiency programs.
Upgrading our existing infrastructure: They're investing $2 billion to:
  • Upgrade existing distribution lines
  • Build new substations and distribution lines
  • Update existing power plants
  • Upgrade and maintaining existing natural gas facilities
  • Install new technology
Investing in renewable energy: The "Energy for a New Generation" plan reinforces their commitment to green power. They'll also continue to research and nurture less developed renewable sources of energy and on-farm anaerobic digesters.

Encouraging energy conservation: Alliant Energy's energy efficiency portfolio includes a mix of products and programs targeted at reducing peak demands and saving customers' energy.
