The I-JOBS Board approved funding from the Local Infrastructure Program for 58 projects in Iowa on August 31, 2009, including the Dallas County communities of Perry and Waukee. Perry Economic Development was awarded $1.55 million for the new construction of a Des Moines Area Community College Career Academy to be located in downtown Perry. Total project cost of the DMACC project will be $3.1 million. The City of Waukee was awarded $3.45 million for the construction of a new public works facility for the community. Total project cost is estimated to be $6.9 million.
Dallas County communities, Van Meter and Adel, made application to the I-JOBS program but were not awarded in this round of funding.
